Killercon in Las Vegas & other News

The last weekend in August will find me returning to Las Vegas for the fantastic event that is KillerCon. Last year was completely amazing and this year promises to be equally so. If you are looking for an excuse to go to Vegas- this, dear reader, is it. Click on the link for all the sordid - I mean wonderful- details.

http://killercon.com/

Between now and the end of the year I will have several new credits to add to my resume. Please check back for details as they unfold.

On a delicate issue it has been a rough year for me. Many changes in my life. Yet, this has only made me a stronger person and that strength is reflected in my recent writing.

2011 should prove to be my best year yet as I intend to release three titles. Including the third in the 'Imaginary Friend' series. I am also working on a collection of 'Inspector Heath' tales, and a few things that might surprise some of you.

27th November 2009

"Yes, there is an app for that!

"The Curious Accounts of the Imaginary Friend" is now available as an IPhone application. There is a free preview of it available for your private perusing pleasure. The application is jolly nice looking - if I do say so myself. My publisher, as always, did me mighy proud.

Interview and short story with Horror Bound Magazine.

I recently had an in-depth interview with the lovely folks at Horror Bound Magazine and was their featured author for October. I am so not worthy, but extremely flattered, to be in such esteemed company. My story "The Fly," is also up- but I warn you do not read it whilst eating.

Twisted Tongue Magazine

In their December issue several new works of mine will be published in addition to the most detailed interview I have ever given. Intrigued? By golly you should be....

Holiday gift giving

Can you imagine the expression on your loved ones face after receiving one of my booksduring the gift giving season? Besides books are so dang easy to wrap and are available at all the major on-line vendors. And remember my titles are also available on just about every type of e-reader there is.

2010

Next year appears as if it will be a banner year for P.S. Gifford! I have some huge (and that is no exageration) news in the pipeline concerning my first novel. I am chomping onthe bit to tell every lovely detail, but do not want to provoke the fickle fates by divulging information now. Watch this space for future announcements.

Blog

Currently my blog details my exploits at the wickedly cool KillerCon in Las Vegas and explains in lurid detail how I ended up on the wrong side of town in an unlit alley. Other recent posts include my experiences at the Bram Stoker awards and how I neglected to pack some exceedingly important articles of clothing...And the wacky hi-jinx that ensued as a result.

"A Bumper Update"

June is going to be an exciting month for P.S. Gifford!

First off his latest book,The Further Accounts of the Imaginary Friend, is now available.

This is what has been said about this all new collection of tales :-

“P.S. Gifford’s combination of horror and wit make his stories the ‘potato chips’ of the genre: bet’cha can’t read just one!”
—Billy Tackett, Dark Artist

“Gifford returns with a vengeance! One of the best collections of horror fiction at any level I’ve seen in ages.”
—Lawrence Dagstine, Author
Fresh Blood

“P.S. Gifford serves up a second helping of genuinely spooky tales, with the Imaginary Friend serving as a worthy guide. These are the kinds of stories that chill to the bone as you read them and lurk in the corners of your mind long after that"
—Alicia Benson, Author
The First Vampire: A Novel of Samson & Delilah

“Mr. Gifford fiendishly channels the Imaginary Friend, giving over his ears, his masterful pen, and his devilish wit to magically weave the tapestry of our nightmares. Don’t be fooled by the inviting rug in front of the warm and cozy fireplace; it’s only a matter of time before the Imaginary Friend tells YOUR story!”
—Deanna Crews, Assistant Program Director
HyperiCon Speculative Fiction Convention

“Reminiscent of Roald Dahl, P.S Gifford entices the reader into his realm of dark wonder with intriguing tales of possession, fear and foul murder. Each story is uniquely constructed, delving into the darkest regions of the human psyche. Characterizations are perfectly orchestrated, leaving the reader wrapped in the moment. This collection is a real page turner, guaranteed to leave you feeling unsettled yet stimulated.”
—Charlotte Emma Gledson, Author
The Lonely Tree and Other Twisted Tales of Torment

It can be purchased at all your favorite on-line book retailers- including, Amazon, Barnes and Noble and in e-book format from Kindle and Mobipocket.

On June 5th-7th he will be a guest at the amazing HyperiCon in Nashville. The author guest of honor this year is none other than Brian Keene. Other author guests include; John Everson, Jonathan Maberry, Alicia Benson, Kimberly Raiser, Glen Cook, Phil Nutman, Steven Shrewsbury, Alethia Koontis, D.A. Adams, Michael A. Banks, David Jack Bell, Maurice Broaddus, Elizabeth Donald, Sara Harvey, Julie Kagawa, Ronald Kelly, John Klement, Deborah LeBlanc, Julianne Lee, Scott Nicholson, Stephanie Osborn, Bryan Smith, Edmund Schubert, Bill Snodgrass, Mathew Warner and Wrath James White.

"The Further Accounts of the Imaginary Friend, is now for sale!"

The Imaginary Friend is back in PS Gifford's long-awaited sequel to THE CURIOUS ACCOUNTS OF THE IMAGINARY FRIEND. For those of you who have yet to make his acquaintance, the Imaginary Friend is the one you conjure up for conversation when you’re consumed with loneliness, greed or visions of imminent doom. Whether you are a new acquaintance or an old friend, you will find the accounts in this volume to be exceptionally... curious. In the interest of full disclosure, however, the Imaginary Friend advises that some of these tales are quite unsettling—even more so than in his first collection.

"Preditors and Editors Polls"

Check out who the #1 writer is in this year's preditors and editors poll. Okay I shared the position but still!

http://anotherealm.com/prededitors/voteauthor07.htm

I also came in third as poet - how I haven't a clue (But I am in a lot of on-line poetry groups...) and in the top ten of several other categories. The artwork for my magazine Chilling Tales also conquered the competition. That is something I am very proud of my webmaster, collaborator and dear friend Stevie Farnaby outdid himself on that. Yes, that is indeed him posing on the cover.

Chilling Tales is doing rather well and is for sale in some really cool locations. Including the deliciously divine Dark Delicacies in Burbank California.

Thanks to anyone here who cast a vote my way.
